Cheerful little Ashraf is ever ready to take photos ... even in the wee hours of morning when everyone is about to get up for Sahur ... even with his pacifier ... the twinkle of his eyes ... sigh ...

Ashraf @ work
Eh ... I am busy here and you wanna take my pictures!!!
Okay, go ahead ... take photos. I need to learn how the walker supports itself. Hmm ...
Ashraf is seriously very active now. To the point that we cannot leave him alone for fear that he will get into mischief. Being the walker, he will just zoom by. Seriously zoommmmmmm by you to the other side of the room. Otherwise he will reach out for something to pull himself up to a standing position. Too bad, the walker is mobile so there was no way Ashraf can pull himself up. Will try to grab photos of that happening though!!! Promise On another note, it seems like his little sibling or sister is as active as her brother. Simply could not keep still and it is very distracting when I am in the midst of work ... She will response to the sounds around her. May Allah protect my little one in my tummy and that everything will run smoothly. The expected delivery date is somewhere in November. For me, I hope she will be another Nisfu Syawal baby like her brother Ashraf.

What's he doing?
Hmm, where is this photo taken? Any takers? Under the chairs and tables ... he just loves crawling under these furnitures and put his head down. Not sure if he is posing or not ... but one thing for sure, he sure knows how to make spaces his playground :)
Standing on his own 2 feet???
Ashraf is holding onto the cupboard, you see ... without his support, the cupboard will fall. Hee hee hee ... in actually fact, Ashraf is slowly getting onto his 2 feet after some time, crawling commando style (with his 2 hands). Here he is, with one hand on the bolster and pushing himself up.
Opps ... he's slidding down ...
But hey ... it's all part and parcel of Ashraf's life. With gusto, he attempts one more time and this time, he made it!!! Alhamdullilah!!! Hip hip hooray ...
Sigh ... isn't he adorable. I wonder how his sister will look like. Eh ... ever wonder what time does this happen??? This is right before bedtime. Last morning, he was up from 1.30 to 3.30 am, trying to push himself up. Hmm ... how much more before he will start walking??? Any ideas???so what has been happening ...
Hmm ... so what has been happening in Little Ashraf's world??? Let the pictures do the talking ...
What's so interesting about this picture??? Look at his feet! He's trying to aim for the remote control at the back of the walker on the coffee table.
Caught in the act of escaping from his walker!!! He actually used the support beams of his walker to push himself out of the walker. Now you must be wondering, has he been successful? Almost ... when he is in the walker, everyone is on full alert, just in case he realll pushes himself out of the walker. There were some near misses ... he was already halfway on the coffee table, with one hand on the fish bowl. Don't worry ... no fishes were harmed during that ordeal.

in the span of a few minutes ...
It's already past Maghrib and it's time for bedtime ... especially for Ashraf. But does he want to sleep tonight .... NOooooooo ... here he is, crying in protest and mumbling and babbling ... in his baby language, perhaps he was saying ... NOoooo ... I am not sleepy yet .... I wanna play!!!
The very next second, he turned around and looked up ... what happened next?
He started smiling and laughing away ... can you believe this little munchkin!!! He was crying one minute and the next laughing ... Nazzer and I cannot make head or tail of this except that Ashraf wants us to play with him ... Aww ... so endearing, right ...
He is ... putting his head down to rest finally with a smile on his face. So what he wants after all is for us to play with him before settling him down to sleep ... sigh ... our little son ...

all in a day of Ashraf's busy life :P
Ashraf is getting active and more playful as each day passes by ... here are some snapshots of him keeping himself and others around him busy ...
Nothing will get in his way ... even a small mattress would part him and the string which his cousin has used to taunt him ...
Okay ... here's the plan ... Kakak will put the jigsaw puzzle together and I will mess it up for you, k ... heheh ... yes ... he really messed up the jigsaw puzzles his cousins has put nicely together ... so moral of the story ... don't do jigsaw puzzle with him. Unless you want to mix the pieces up ...
Eh ... What's Aunty reading? Hmm ... the new paper ... any article interesting for me???Eh ... where's Ashraf? Where there is curtain ... Ashraf will be around somewhere, playing with the curtain. Above shows him entangling himself in the curtains ... much to his glee. So ... no long curtains ... According to his Nek Yang ... Ashraf's ummi likes to hide herself behind curtains. According to his Wan, Ashraf's Abi like to swing himself from one place to another using the curtains ... so ... you get the picture where Ashraf get this liking for curtains ... :P

sleep time!!!

It's sleep time for little Ashraf ... but even in his sleep, he still is very active that he can no longer sleep in his own bed. He roams around in his sleep and his own bed is too small for him ... see below, the many different sleeping positions and see how he moves about in the span of one night ....
It started like the above with Ashraf in between his Abi and Ummi ... then ...
he turns to the side and decides to be closer to the pillow instead ... then
he prefers the other pillow and so he turns again ...
Nope ... not a comfortable sleeping position ... he decides to make a 180 degrees turn and sleep ...

Nope ... not a comfortable sleeping position ... he decides to make a 180 degrees turn and sleep ... So what happens to his Abi and Ummi ... either we keep waking up and turn him to the original position or we just follow him and change our sleeping positions. Well ... since you can't beat him ... join him ...

There's something on my head leh... Ah... I wanna take it off...

Hold still Atok... let me touch your moustache.. is that right??

Friend... where are you going? Hold on...

There's something on your back!!
Let me take it off from your back...

Ashraf Cukur Rambut
It's a tradition for muslim to practice ... "Cukur rambut"...which means.. hair triming. It's usually done for newborn or infant, form of appreciation to Allah blessing in providing the couple for a healthy baby and may we wish for better prosperity and future continous health. In Ashraf case, it's rather overdue but it's better late than never. : )
Ashraf appears abit daze... See how comfortable Ashraf is, infact his behaviour during the whole ceremony was well behaved.
Ashraf did joined in the quran recitation at times... until he doze off at Abi's lap.... ; )

Tok Uchu... (moyang uchu)... Abi's religious teacher, start the ceremony.
Here's the bowl of water that holds ashraf curl, after it's being trim off.Anyway, Ashraf need a real haircut after this, his hair beginning to thicken and cause him to look rather messy at times..
Barber time... i guess...
Yummy... egg yolk... : )
Hide N Seek
We apologised for the long long absence... The main reason is.... we kinda misplaced our digital camera... searching high and low... finally... we found it...
Ironicly, there's so much to update of ashraf progress...
Look here... Even ashraf was trying to help us...
Abi.... Let me help Umi and you to locate the misplace digi camera.... Let's start under the chairs...

I believe.. it should be somewhere inside... please hold on... ya....

Aha.... this looks familar... could this be???
Eh eh.... that was the digicamera casing.... But where is the camera?? alamak... Where could it be?? Let me think....

it's reading time ...
Ssh ... I want to concentrate on the newspaper article here. Please keep it quiet ... ssh ...
Hmm ... interesting article ... harmony despite different thoughts ... oooooo ... heavy topic ...
let's see what's on the other page? Hmm ... read ... read ... read
PS: Moral of the story ... do not leave your newspaper around for little Ashraf to pry or tear the pages out. It's little wonder why this newspaper page survived his hands :P this goes for all books as well. So beware ... wonder if this is a sign of him being a book lover like his Ummi or otherwise ... One, one present ...
Okay, let's count the number of cars ... One, two, three, four, five, six ... six little cars ... Hah Hah Hah. See ... I am starting to learn how to count like Count Dracula!
Now, let's count the number of worms ... how many worms do I have in my hands?
Here I am ... with my learning corner that Abi & Ummi has set up for me ... so now I slowly learn to count ... soon I wonder what will I learn ...
little curious mind
One day, Iwas crawling around the living room. Then suddenly I saw something in the distance. I decided to have a closer look and crawled nearer and nearer.
Hmm, that looks yummy ... Ummi was smiling when she was eating it ... I wonder what is it? I want to have a taste too. Yum ... yum
Here I am, having a bit of taste of what Ummi is having. Hmm ... nice and sweet. It turned out to be ice cream!!! Heheh ... so now I know how ice cream taste like ... will clamour for one when opportunity arises ...

Ashraf Updates
Many apologise for not updating my blog. Was tied down with lots of work, courses and to top it up, the flu bug has gotten to most of us ... Here are the updates in short ...
Here is Ashraf with his Jawi flash cards ... call us ambitious ... but we would like him to know that there are other languages too beside English, Malay and Chinese ...
"Abi, Abi ... what happens if I pull this wire? Will the laptop still work?"
"Come Abi ... you should do it this way. Let me show you ..." See how enthusiastic Ashraf each time he got his hands on laptops or keyboards. Serious!!! So his poor Abi can't do his work and cringe each time Ashraf press some keys on the keyboard ... heheh ...
Ashraf was down with flu last Monday together with his Umi ... so both of us were down with flu and had mc. However, Ashraf has developed fever last Thursday ... his temperature was 38.8 degrees celsius so both Abi and Ummi were on standby on Friday to take care of him. Syukur Alhamdullilah, his temperature went down and he was just a bit cranky. Today ... he showed a bit of his old self ... grinning and babbling away ... let's pray for his speed recovery. Amin
