Happy Birthday Ayah

Ayah, today you are 76 years old ... and you have gone through a lot the past few months. But there is no doubt, without you I wouldn't be where I am now.
Thank you for bringing me up and seeing me through school ...
Thank you for those times you sent and fetch me ...
Thank you for ensuring that I am well taken care of even till this day ...
Thank you for the scoldings, advises you have given me ...
Thank you for loving me so much that I am more of your daughter than grand-daughter ...
& most importantly, THANK YOU ALLAH for my grandfather ...
May Allah bless you with health and happiness. Amin ...
A quarter of a century has passed by and when I looked back ... I am amazed by the numerous memories I kept. From school to friends to family members. Was ambitious to write down all that happened in the past ... but not possible to. Let the past be the past. What's important is tomorrow ... what is going to happen tomorrow or the day after. So what is going to happen tomorrow???

Aisyah's galore

It seems like Aisyah can see things and hear better now. When her name is called out, she will look for the source. Below she is touching Ashraf's clothes ...

Opps, what's happening here?

Oh, Wan is massaging me. Aww... it's really nice ... syiok. See the content look on her face. I also want to be massaged :)

... changes

Had a meeting today. Surprisingly, so many changes took place while I was away. Just 1 month. Changes in committees, staff movement, syllabuses and many more. What was planned for had to be changes to deal with the new changes. So next year will be an interesting year ... with new students coming in amidst the new changes.

Guess what they say is true ... the only constant is change.

In the memory of my 2 beloved mothers who has returned to HIM ...

motherhood ... moth·er·hood [muhth-er-hood]
–noun
1. the state of being a mother; maternity.
2. the qualities or spirit of a mother.
3. mothers collectively.

–adjective
4. having or relating to an inherent worthiness, justness, or goodness that is obvious or unarguable: legislation pushed through on a motherhood basis.

What the girls have been up to?

School has ended and holidays have started. But what have the girls been up to??? Besides watching out for Ashraf (and sometimes, 'sakat-ing' him) ... hmm ... let's take a peek ...
They played dress up!!! Nurul Hannis was dressed up as a bride cum princess ... wonder where is the prince???
Here the 3 girls are dolled and dressed up complete with wands ... pretty fairies or witches ... missing in action is Aliyah ... must grab hold of her with all her sisters!!!

Ashraf gone exploring ...

Inspired by Dora the Explorer ... Ashraf has gone exploring, literally. Here he is exploring how the telephone works ... he is simply smitten by the smooth lines of the white telephone that he will head for it once he saw it on the table. So now the telephone is on top of the shelves, way high for him to reach out. But when he can grab hold of it ...
He will press the dialpad and put the receiver near his ears ... and start mumbling ... thankfully the phone has a dial lock :P
Ashraf is also doing more and more things by himself. Just today, while feeding him smashed rice, he tried to put some fingers into his mouth. Why? There were some rice on his fingers so he tried to feed himself. MasyaÁllah ... In the picture above, Ashraf was holding onto the bottle himself. When he is thirsty, he hold onto it steadfast. When not, he will put it in and out of his mouth ... and he will be laughing ... guess he is happy he can do it on his own. We are too ... syukur alhamdullilah ...

birth, marriage, death

I used to think that the cycle of life begins with birth, followed by marriage and finally death. How naive I was to believe as such. In reality, it's not always in that order. Sometimes death comes before marriage. Or death comes before birth. In my case, The passing of Mummy is followed by my marriage. She doesn't even get to see her first grandson let alone her second grandchild. Like what my late Mak said ... her daughter goes before her. And now Mak is no longer around. In a span of two months, so many changes occured ... Mak's passing on, giving birth to Aisyah, Ashraf turning one, Bak returning to Qatar, Aunty Angah leaving for Madinah. In next few months, more changes looked set to happen. But do i want it to happen?

1 month old part 2

Well ... Wan has gone shopping yesterday ... and she brought back lots of pink and cute stuff for me ... today, Aisyah is all dressed up in pink and white.

Jemput minum (Let's drink)!!!

Recently Ashraf has been very busy ... besides being busy biting people (see previous posts), he is learning to do things for himself. This time, Ashraf is showing us how to drink from a cup.

First and foremost, we must invite people around us to drink. Courteous, right ... so here goes ... ! "Jemput Minum (Let's drink)!"
Next, hold the cup by the handle. Make sure both your hands are holding onto the cup.

Next, bring the cup to your lips and tilt it bit by bit. At first, water might spill out but practise makes perfect, right ... so continue to practise.

That's all for today. Stay tune to more of Ashraf's Let's ...

1 month old ...

MasyaÁllah ... 1 month has passed by since Aisyah arrived. It's really been really fast, huh ... here's a glipse of Aisyah ...
Surrendering to slumber ... see that both her hands are up ... no matter how we bind her up, her hands will escape the bind ...
Drinking milk ... alhamdullilah, her appetite is healthy.

3 weeks old!!!

Time really flies very fast ... Siti Aisyah is already 3 weeks old. Can you imagine that ... seemed like it was only yesterday that she arrived ...
Here she is, after bathing and dolling up. All snuggled up in her bed ...
After a while ... she would fidget and fidget and presto her arms are free. She prefers it that way ... wonder who she is looking at ...
Close up of Siti Aisyah ... doesn't look quite pleased ... well ... she is sleepy now. So she prefers the bed more than the flash of the camera :)

Nevertheless ... Syukur Alhamdullilah to Allah who has blessed us with Siti Aisyah. Guide us to be good parents and guide us in the path to bring our children up to be good people. Amin ... Guide us in our path to build our family and grant us blessings, health and happiness. Amin ...

Bathing time ...

Snapped some shots of my princess bathing ... from the looks of it, it seems like she doesn't quite like water. Wonder why ... Ashraf loves water, he hates it when he has to leave the tub.
Dear princess in Abi's arms ... Abi is heating the betel leaves for Aisyah ... tuam her body so that she will not suffer from wind or cold.
Close-up view ... all snuggled up nice and warm ....
But not before she screamed her lungs out ... the problem is that she disliked being wake up for bath. So the moral of the story is to wait for her to wake up and then bath her ...

Cool Dude!!!

Lately Ashraf has gotten himself a new license ... license to drive the scooter (the 3 wheels version). Here are some pictures of him ... showing off his new interest.
Hehe ... so how do i look???
Just a year old but knows how to make himself a cool dude ...

our little princess

Our dear Princess Aisyah ... with her sidekick ... CareBear!!! Wonder what they are looking at???
Here she is after bathing ... she doesn't like to be bundled up ... just like her brother ... she will try to break free when she can.
Here she is, posing with a baby hat ... all dressed and dolled up from head to toe ...
Ssh ... do tread quietly here. Princess Aisyah is falling asleep in her grandma's arms ... so comfy and nice ... Rock a bye baby in grandma's arms ...
All snuggled up and ready for sleep in her little basket. But now she has upgraded herself from basket to mattress. She's like her mom ... claustrophobic, doesn't like to be constricted by space :P [hates it when my space is being invaded ;P]

Allahu Akbar!!!

On this very day, Ashraf was very restless during Maghrib. Wondering why ... we let him out of his playpen. He headed straight for the prayer mat and started to sujud while reciting Allahu Akbar. At first it seemed like coincidental ... but when he started doing again and again ... it's no doubt that he is copying us doing our prayers ...
This time, we put on the sarong on him. Macam pak haji kecil sedang dengar khutbah!
Here he is, sujud in his own way ... May Allah bless him and guide him always :)
Here he is, posing and all ... how??? Ada tokoh Ustaz???

Here Abah Long and Mama Long together with Kak Atiqah and Kak Aliyah helped to put the decorations together ... after much puffing and huffing ... tada ....

Next comes the performance by all Kakaks ... following the tune from the electronic organ, Kakaks sang and danced several songs ... all prepared for Ashraf :)

It started as two of us and now there are four, Nazzer, Ashraf, Aisyah and me ...

Someone is a year older ...

A year ago at 1139 in the morning, a baby's cries was heard from the operating theatre. A year later, the baby has grown a year older with all the energies and spunkiness in the world ... the baby is none other than Muhammad Ashraf Bin Mohammed Nazzer ...
Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday dear Ashraf
Happy Birthday to you ...
So what has he achieved so far ... alhamdullilah ... one of his common vocab is Allah ... followed by Abah, Tok Bak, Kakak, mam-mam, and many more. He is able to grasp onto things and pull himself up. Even to the point of climbing up the gate :) (see the pictures in the previous posting).
But the most important part is that he has a loving nature beneath his hyperactiveness :) he loves his sister and he shows this by putting his head on his sister's head. What more can we ask for ... alhamdullilah ...
Watch out for more photos when we hold a simple family gathering to celebrate his first birthday ...

Ashraf's antics

Why does Tok Yang cover his nose with his hanky??? Any takers?
It's because Ashraf has just bit his nose! It's Ashraf's way of greeting his Tok Yang who has taught him to do so. Serious ... sounds unbelievable but it's true :) So do watch out your nose when you want to kiss Ashraf.
See the similarities between Ashraf and his Atuk??? Winning smiles :)
Nazzer is simply mad about Spiderman. Here is evidence that his Abi's interest is passed down to his son ... Ashraf is now busy climbing staircases and door gates without any fear. He is simply fearless!!!
So why does he climb the gate? So that he can reach the door bell and press the button.

2 weeks already ...

Quietly the sands of time has passed by and now it's already more than 2 weeks since Siti Aisyah arrived. Here she is, catching up on beauty sleep ... babies need about 20 hours of sleep. Luxury huh ... wish I am a baby too ...
Now Aisyah opened her eyes after bathing ... her eyes is bit yellow due to jaundice. Alhamdullilah, now no more yellow eyes after days of sunning.
Guess what she likes now ... she likes honey!!! Serious! Hehe ... it so happened that we bought for her Winnie the Pooh pillow and bolster set. So she is like a little bear. The brother was liken to Donald Duck while the sister is like to Winnie the Pooh.

Brother & Sister

Will Ashraf get along well with his sister? Or will there be strong jealousy oozing out??? Syukur alhamdullilah ... when Aisyah arrived, Ashraf seem to be taken by his sister ... i shall let the pictures do the talking ...
Here is Ashraf first look at his sister ... he reached out his hand and with guidance, stroked his sister's head ...
Here he is ... showing his love by putting his head on his sister's. All done with his own will ... syukur alhamdullilah ...
Back at home with 2 sleepyheads ... Aisyah is busy with milk while Ashraf is busy turning around to pat his sister ...
Here they are together ... unfortunately with their mouths occupied :P ... will capture more of these precious moments ...

Arrival of Siti Aisyah

Alhamdullilah ... Many praises to Allah ...
We are pleased to annouce the arrival of Siti Aisyah Binti Mohammed Nazzer on Thursday, 2 November 2006 at 0659 hours at East Shore Hospital. She was borned at a height of 49 cm and weigh 2.82 kg.

Both Aisyah and I have discharged from the hospital since 3 November and now I am recuperating at home. So there is another Syawal baby in the midst ... same like the brother, Ashraf. There are some similarities between the 2 of them ...
1. Both of them are Thursday babies
2. Both of them are Syawal babies
3. Almost similar weight, Ashraf is 2.845 kg while Aisyah is 2.82 kg.
4. Almost similar height, Ashraf is 50 cm while Aisyah is 49 cm.

Due any time now

Eidilfitri has finally arrived ... and once again we meet the month of Shawal. And once again, it comes to the period when I am due to deliver any time soon. According to my gynae, I am due any time soon but it's life as per normal for me. Will continue with my duties in school ... no more classes, just being on standby for invigilation and preparing for the little new member of the family.
InsyaÁllah, we will be naming our little princess Siti Aisyah. I know that many of my friends named their princess Aisyah ... but we are smitten with the simplicity of the name. It just simply and pure. Get what I mean??? So I went online and look for the meaning ... this is what I get from http://www.muslim-names.co.uk/muslim-baby-girl-names-A-4.html.
Aisyah means ...
Life, Vivaciousness, Living Prosperous, Youngest wife of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
