Ready, Get Set, Go!!!

Ready ... let's check if the van is here already. Aisyah did her daily check on the car park to see if her school van has arrived. She will happily donned her bag, a birthday present. Opps, she has yet to wear her tudung. Oh she will ... when she reached school.

Already in the van. Both of them are so familiar with the routine that when they boarded the van, automatically they will shift right to the end and sit down.

Getting ready for school

Wake up in the morning, getting ready for school. Ashraf and Aisyah are all dressed up in their school uniform. Here is Aisyah posing with her pacifier. But does she bring her pacifier to school? Nope ... it will be whisked away right before she boarded the van.
Ashraf just got ready and came down the stairs. See how handsome he is ... game for photo-taking with his cute smile :)

Early in the morning ...

At 6.20am, lights on! Time to wake up and greet everyone 'Assalamu'alaikum' and 'Good Morning'.

Aisyah is a bit groggy when the lights were switched on. Still having her pacifier on.
Ashraf who woke up slight earlier, already game to pose after drinking his morning milk.
Here, Aisyah is still lazing around while Ashraf posed! Hey, he can do the 'Peace' sign. Hmm, who taught him that?

What comes next? Getting ready for school!

Playtime before bedtime!

It's already 8.00 pm but Ashraf & Aisyah are still very awake. Ashraf kept bugging for a house. So here we are with a 'house' made out of mattress and pillows for them. In and out, they crawled and pretended to sleep. But when they saw me taking out my camera, they came out and posed. Here they are, right before the mattress collapsed on them.

Thomas & Friends

There are two, there are four,

There are six and eight,

Shunting trucks and hauling freights,

Recognise the lyrics? Too bad, can't sing it for you. Ashraf's craze over trains has gone further. Added to his collection of trains are Murdock, Rosie and Thomas and Paint Carriage. How many does he have now ... actually, I am not sure. Let me take a photo and you will see. Oh yes, I forgot to add on 'up and away' tracks. What are they? Look in the pictures below, can you identify the tracks?

Cute pose, right? Opps, back to my question, the tracks are his new favourite. He will push his trains under the bridge and over it ... and guess what, like Sylvanian Family, it can be expandable. Heheh ... another craze coming up.
See the long train of trains ... each one of them has a name ... interesting, right ... and like Sylvanian Family, they are Japanese products who pay great details. One of his trains (James) makes sound and lights up each time it move. Serious ...

Nowadays kids toys have revolved with technology that it simply amazed me ... not to mention they do a good job of amazing the kids. They sure are amazed. Ashraf slept with his trains ... even waked up in the middle of the night to play with his toys. Yes, he did just that. He even woke up earlier than any of us to continue playing.

Sigh ... the love interest of Ashraf ...

Sylvanian craze

It all started with one Sylvanian cottage then turned into other cottages and even a hotel. Now, Aisyah has her own too. Had to admit ... the mom has a love interest in Sylvanian families since she was young. Just don't have the means ... now I share my love interest with Aisyah. She started with a Dora rescue centre with figuries of Dora and Diego (dunnoe who they are ... watch Nickleodeon) and now it's integrated with her new toy ... compliments of her Abi ...

See how engrossed she is ... immediately after her nap (she was still groggy), she lie down on the floor and play with her new cottage.

After warming up a bit, then she sits up and willing to pose ... yupe, she saw the camera and she posed. Eiii ... feel like pinching her cheeks!!!

After posing, back to serious business again ... she started back on her cottage. Seriously, I am amazed with the great details put into designing these toys with small pencils and printed clothes to add colour to the blankets and clothings.

Ashraf & Aisyah's Art Work

It's nearly 2 months since Ashraf and Aisyah have started school at Hanis Montessori Learning Centre. And Aisyah has blended really well with the school. Apparently she is the favourite of the transport lady as Aisyah will gaily sing songs during the trips to and fro school. Sometimes Ashraf will joined his sister in singing too.

One of their Art & Craft session, they did 'Name Sticks' where they pasted animal pastas (I did not know they are available until they brought back their crafts! Only know there are alphabets ones.) and their name. Now they can recognise their names but not how to spell them yet.

This month's theme is Total Defense so they get to learn about Fire Trucks, Ambulance, Army and Police. In fact, they just went on a learning journey (in other words, excursion) to the Civil Defense Museum. Unfortunately, neither Nazzer nor I were able to take time off to be a parent volunteer to capture them in action. The picture above shows their colouring skills where they just colour.

Ashraf & Aisyah went out together, wearing something similar ... (yupe, someone asked if these are their school uniforms) but nope ... it's not! They just have something similar, compliments from their Wan! Thank you, Wan!

Well, while they were out, they came across two poles ... more of barriers to prevent people from playing soccer under the void deck. Back to where I was typing ....

Ashraf & Aisyah were hugging and posing together. Aren't they adorable ... I don't know where they get the photographic talent from. I doubt it's from me ... perhaps from their grandparents or uncles or aunties or cousins ... or their Abi!

It would definitely be a wonderful picture, except for that pacifier. Good news now ... he does not ask for his pacifier much. Alhamdullilah ...

These kids have their funny moments too ... they pretended to carry the poles out of the concrete floor. But can they? Of course, not ... instead they pose with the poles, pretending to carry them ...

First Week of 2009

Year 2008 has gone and in it's place 2009. 2009 presents many happenings ... some already happening and some going to happen. Let's start with already happenings ...

1st Muharram come and go ...
Another year in our Islamic calendar. May Allah guide us away from mistakes and guide us towards moving forward as useful people. Amin!

First week of school ...
Yupe, I am back in school. But everyday though. My school is sending me on a Research Activists Attachment which will take me 2 days from school. What does this mean ... I am teaching and being teached at the same time. In a way, it paved the path towards a Master that was cevetted by many others as a stepping stone towards a better tomorrow, Amin. So this year, I will be doing some modules which can be accredditted into a Master programme. So this time, it's no longer just saying it but working it out. Back to the days where there are readings to do ... this time, the area will focus on curriculum and research.

Ashraf started school at Hanis Montessori Learning Centre as a 2nd year student. Hahah ... sounds grand but it actually means that Ashraf is now in the Challenger stage ... the 2nd stage of the playschool programme. Alhamdullilah ... since he joined the school, we saw many positive developments in him.

Joining him this time is Aisyah. Yupe, only 2 years and 2 months, she joined her brother in school as one of the youngest member of the school cohort. She is in the Explorer stage and is slowly adjusting to school life. It started out quite easy ... too easy actually with her gamely going onto the school van, waving good bye to us. But the later part of the week pose a challenge as she refused to wear the school uniform. It's the adapting stage or orientation stage so we are still making her attend school.

But when asked to pose at several poles, they were up to monkey business ... pretending to carry the poles which was cemented to the floor permanently. How is it possible, right? But they had a wonderful time, pretending otherwise!

Suhailah's wedding - Part 2

Alhamdullilah, Suhailah and Yady has gone through their solemnisation and Majlis Persandingan ... wonderful event with wonderful people ...

Ashraf & Aisyah upon knowing their tasks for the day - to be on their best behaviour and be flower girl and boy ... (Aisyah seemed to be a bit stressed ... perhaps it's the best behaviour part)

Here they are ... just the 2 of them ... preparing for the big wedding march. Actually they looked more like they are posing rather than concentrating on the tasks ahead.

Most important though is for Ilah & Yady ... May Allah bless you always with happiness and health. Marriage is a long and continuous process where you will learn more about your partner and growing with him or her. There are things which you will come to accept and not accept but always remember ... the bonds and ties you shared will be stronger as the days goes by with rahmat from Allah ... Amin.

Not forgetting too ... Ashraf & Aisyah want friends from you. So do your part and fulfill your national duty. Singapore needs babies!!!
