Sleeping Beauty

At Kak Hannah's birthday party, hidden away in one of the rooms lies asleep another princess. It's none other than my own princess, Siti Aisyah. Alhamdullilah, despite the noisy and rowdy atmosphere, she is able to sleep ...
Up close and personal shot of Siti Aisyah asleep. Now ... who does she resemble?

Hannah's 7th Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday Nurul Hannah
Happy Birthday to You ...
It's our beloved niece, Nurul Hannah's Birthday. Can spot her out? She's the cute fairy in white. Here ... all the cousins got together for a photo shot. Heheh ... Ashraf is out to bully Kak Hannis. Can you see how uncomfortable she is ... Ashraf is certainly mischievious :)
Wonder why Ashraf is crying? He wanted to get close to the cake. Really close ... he is mesmerised by the dancing fire on the candles.
Here the Fairy Princess Hannah is cutting her Tweety Bird Cake for everyone. Once again, Happy Birthday, dear Hannah. May Allah bless you with health and happiness ... Amin

Charming smiles of little Aisyah

It's one of the wonderful joys of parenthood to see your child smiling. And even without any teeth, when they smiled, it's simply beautiful ...

By now, Aisyah's senses have developed. When someone called her name or talked to her, she will respond by smiling, laughing and sometimes even making some baby sounds which sounds heavenly :)

Eyes brighten up when someone called her name ...

Sibling love ...

It's one of our fear that Ashraf will not accept his sister or becomes jealous of his sister. Alhamdullilah ... it's the opposite.
From a glance, it seemed that Ashraf is banging his head on his sister. In actual fact, he was just placing his forehead on his sister to show his love for her. In fact, when Ashraf wants to show his love, he will do the same to others too.
See the smile on Aisyah ... alhamdullilah, she doesn't fret when her brother show his love.
In fact, here she seemed quite happy too ...
Ya Allah ... we seek love and close bonding between Ashraf and Aisyah. May they look out for one another ... May they become fillial children and useful people when they grow up. Amin ... Dear Allah, guide us in our duties as parents ...

What is Aisyah looking at?

Aisyah, what are you looking at???
Oh ... she is looking at her big brother, Ashraf. Dalam hati ... Abang Ashraf pakai tepung ke bedak?
Ish ... ish ... ish Abang Ashraf nak ikut Seniman Aziz lah!!! Macam dalam cerita Seniman Bujang Lapok sewaktu mereka nak buat screen test :P

It's mengaji time!!!

Sshhh ... quiet. Ashraf nak mengaji ... opps ... something is not right here. Something does not belong here ... the pacifier. Nak mengaji macam mana nak hisap puting???
Hehehe ... gone was the pacifier and Ashraf is back to his mengaji ...
Alhamdullilah ... he seems to know something about mengaji. Guess it's from his grandparents whom he often saw mengaji ... so in a way, he is imitating them. Good reminder for us, parents :)

Part 3 of Ashraf's Let's ...

Many updates this far ... here goes
  1. Ashraf call his Tok Yang, 'Ayah' ... much to Tuk Yang's favor ... So my Atuk will be forever be young :)
  2. Ashraf call his Tok Bak, 'Ak' (short form for Bak, I assumed :P) and recognised him too from the photos. He must have missed his 'Ak' as he leaned his forehead against the picture (Ashraf's way of showing 'sayang'). He even mimicked the sound of a car's engine when he was carassing 'Ak's photo. His way of saying that Tok Bak always brought him out ...
  3. Ashraf can comb his hair using his brush ... just one or two brushes and that's it. It's a good start :) in fact, he can even comb his soft toys' hair too
  4. Ashraf is now familiarising himself with the toothbrush. So far, he put it into his mouth and took it out immediately. But hey ... he sure can brush his Tigger's teeth

Sorry there are no pictures as yet. Our camera is away in Japan with Nazzer. Will post pictures as soon as we can. It's a promise.

A&E Scare!!!

Last Wednesday was a day not to be reckon with. From afternoon all the way to 9 at night, it was filled with apprehension, tension, fright and many more ...

However the one which really shook me was when Aisyah was referred to A&E department. In other words, going to a hospital in the middle of the night. There was a lump on Aisyah's thigh. Not sure what it is, Aisyah was brought to a GP to treat it. The GP wasn't sure what it is. In fact, he doesn't dare to diagnose it. But when he mentioned about referring to a hospital, I simple buckled and cried my lungs out. Images of tubes, possible surgery ran through my mind. My little girl, less than 2 months old, having to be admitted!!! I simply doesn't know what to do ... Nazzer is away in Japan ... so I felt simply helpless, Masya'Allah ... thankfully my mother-in-law and sister-in-law accompanied me to East Shore. Upon reaching, we request for a Pediatrician ... syukur alhamdullilah, we get the Pediatrician who attended to Aisyah when she was borned. And syukur Alhamdullilah once again ... he diagnosed the lump to be a reaction to the vaccination. Aisyah just had a jab last Saturday. The lump is not dangerous but it will be a while before it disappeared. So it's nothing to be worried about. Just need to monitor her temperature and extra gentle when attending to her diapers.

Syukur Alhamdullilah ... sincerely, it was a great scare. Having to send a child to the hospital at night and Nazzer was away due to work. Alhamdullilah ... nothing serious comes out of it :)

Here's a quick update on the kids ...
Ashraf is now 8 kg
Aisyah is 4.5 kg.

under the weather ...

Poor Ashraf ... he was down with slight fever last Sunday. Just as we thought the fever was gone, he lost weight. Now he is not so chubby as before. Was worried ... topped up with the occasional cough, we had to visit the doctor. Alhamdullilah, it was just a slight fever. His fever can be attributed to several factors ... he missed so many people. One of which is Nek Yang is no longer around ... Tok Bak and Atuk who are away ... Kak Aton (my sis-in-law's maid) who went back to her village. With so many people away ... no wonder, he lost weight. Atuk and Tok Bak do come back soon ... Ashraf was really lively when either one of you is around ...

Happy Birthday Ayah

Ayah, today you are 76 years old ... and you have gone through a lot the past few months. But there is no doubt, without you I wouldn't be where I am now.
Thank you for bringing me up and seeing me through school ...
Thank you for those times you sent and fetch me ...
Thank you for ensuring that I am well taken care of even till this day ...
Thank you for the scoldings, advises you have given me ...
Thank you for loving me so much that I am more of your daughter than grand-daughter ...
& most importantly, THANK YOU ALLAH for my grandfather ...
May Allah bless you with health and happiness. Amin ...
A quarter of a century has passed by and when I looked back ... I am amazed by the numerous memories I kept. From school to friends to family members. Was ambitious to write down all that happened in the past ... but not possible to. Let the past be the past. What's important is tomorrow ... what is going to happen tomorrow or the day after. So what is going to happen tomorrow???

Aisyah's galore

It seems like Aisyah can see things and hear better now. When her name is called out, she will look for the source. Below she is touching Ashraf's clothes ...

Opps, what's happening here?

Oh, Wan is massaging me. Aww... it's really nice ... syiok. See the content look on her face. I also want to be massaged :)

... changes

Had a meeting today. Surprisingly, so many changes took place while I was away. Just 1 month. Changes in committees, staff movement, syllabuses and many more. What was planned for had to be changes to deal with the new changes. So next year will be an interesting year ... with new students coming in amidst the new changes.

Guess what they say is true ... the only constant is change.

In the memory of my 2 beloved mothers who has returned to HIM ...

motherhood ... moth·er·hood [muhth-er-hood]
–noun
1. the state of being a mother; maternity.
2. the qualities or spirit of a mother.
3. mothers collectively.

–adjective
4. having or relating to an inherent worthiness, justness, or goodness that is obvious or unarguable: legislation pushed through on a motherhood basis.

What the girls have been up to?

School has ended and holidays have started. But what have the girls been up to??? Besides watching out for Ashraf (and sometimes, 'sakat-ing' him) ... hmm ... let's take a peek ...
They played dress up!!! Nurul Hannis was dressed up as a bride cum princess ... wonder where is the prince???
Here the 3 girls are dolled and dressed up complete with wands ... pretty fairies or witches ... missing in action is Aliyah ... must grab hold of her with all her sisters!!!

Ashraf gone exploring ...

Inspired by Dora the Explorer ... Ashraf has gone exploring, literally. Here he is exploring how the telephone works ... he is simply smitten by the smooth lines of the white telephone that he will head for it once he saw it on the table. So now the telephone is on top of the shelves, way high for him to reach out. But when he can grab hold of it ...
He will press the dialpad and put the receiver near his ears ... and start mumbling ... thankfully the phone has a dial lock :P
Ashraf is also doing more and more things by himself. Just today, while feeding him smashed rice, he tried to put some fingers into his mouth. Why? There were some rice on his fingers so he tried to feed himself. MasyaÁllah ... In the picture above, Ashraf was holding onto the bottle himself. When he is thirsty, he hold onto it steadfast. When not, he will put it in and out of his mouth ... and he will be laughing ... guess he is happy he can do it on his own. We are too ... syukur alhamdullilah ...

birth, marriage, death

I used to think that the cycle of life begins with birth, followed by marriage and finally death. How naive I was to believe as such. In reality, it's not always in that order. Sometimes death comes before marriage. Or death comes before birth. In my case, The passing of Mummy is followed by my marriage. She doesn't even get to see her first grandson let alone her second grandchild. Like what my late Mak said ... her daughter goes before her. And now Mak is no longer around. In a span of two months, so many changes occured ... Mak's passing on, giving birth to Aisyah, Ashraf turning one, Bak returning to Qatar, Aunty Angah leaving for Madinah. In next few months, more changes looked set to happen. But do i want it to happen?

1 month old part 2

Well ... Wan has gone shopping yesterday ... and she brought back lots of pink and cute stuff for me ... today, Aisyah is all dressed up in pink and white.

Jemput minum (Let's drink)!!!

Recently Ashraf has been very busy ... besides being busy biting people (see previous posts), he is learning to do things for himself. This time, Ashraf is showing us how to drink from a cup.

First and foremost, we must invite people around us to drink. Courteous, right ... so here goes ... ! "Jemput Minum (Let's drink)!"
Next, hold the cup by the handle. Make sure both your hands are holding onto the cup.

Next, bring the cup to your lips and tilt it bit by bit. At first, water might spill out but practise makes perfect, right ... so continue to practise.

That's all for today. Stay tune to more of Ashraf's Let's ...

1 month old ...

MasyaÁllah ... 1 month has passed by since Aisyah arrived. It's really been really fast, huh ... here's a glipse of Aisyah ...
Surrendering to slumber ... see that both her hands are up ... no matter how we bind her up, her hands will escape the bind ...
Drinking milk ... alhamdullilah, her appetite is healthy.

He has been practising his bite ... seriously!!!

Haha ... don't make me angry ... see my sharp teeth ... I can bite you like a dinosaur!!!
